It is always exciting, sometimes scary, but usually pretty interesting to hear about what goes on behind the scenes on the trails right here in Carmel Valley. You can see from the photo that vaulting is like trick riding and it is an amazing sport. This photo is actually of my old best friend, Kathy Wright, who was a Gold Medalist a long time ago. She is in my book as my main character's best friend, Brianna. I was so excited to find this picture taken so long ago.
